Details The present study aimed to examine whether "Rationale Production Training" had any influences on arguments and self-evaluation by high school students. The language arts lessons that adopted " Rationale Production Training " were planned and was carried out in a public high school in OSAKA. Comparing pre-training and post-training, the result showed no significant training effect on the number of sentences in arguments, but showed significant training effect on the number of idea-units in rationale described in arguments. And no significant training had effect on content type of rationale described in arguments.
In addition, as for decrease in "degree of satisfaction to arguments of their own", rationale production training was effective for Japanese high school students at a point to think about an argument of their own carefully.
Thus, it suggested that "Rationale Production Training” caused more concise arguments and that it did not affect contents of rationales in arguments.
