概要	The present study explored a development of typical burnout using behavioural experiment. How much enthusiastic workers are is one important factor of job burnout. We predicted that participants with a high sense of mission for their job would maintain an enthusiastic approach even when they could not receive good feedback. Participants performed “the role letter task”, in which they play a role as a counselor who deal with a client with mental disorders. Although many participants did not attempt the same task because of the accumulation of mental fatigue, those who with a high sense of mission maintained an enthusiastic approach and try to complete the task many times, even though they could not get positive feedback. These findings indicate that typical burnout is caused by the accumulation of mental fatigue due to the sense of mission. Majority of the participants, however, did not try the second experiment. This finding implies that few people may reach a typical burnout state.
