Details | In this talk I considered the possibilities and problems of using corpora in the study of Late Modern English. After touching upon the history and the present situation of the study of Late Modern English, we examined several corpora available for the study of LME. And finally, as a case study, we looked at some of the issues in Late Modern English using two representative corpora: namely, The Pen Parsed Corpus of Modern British English (PPCMBE) and A Representative Corpus of Historical English Resisters (ARCHER). |
