Details | This poster presentation describes the Japan-US Online Conversation Project that provides students with intercultural contact experiences and enables teacher-researchers to collect “local” Japanese as a Lingua Franca interaction data. The data was video-recorded and later analyzed linguistically and socioculturally, in the premise of a local learner corpus approach put forward by Seidlhofer (2002). Some preliminary findings drawn from the analysis results were presented, along with the follow-up survey and interview results and teacher observations. |
