1. I am interested in human rights issues in Japan especially the death penalty, treatment of prisoners, undocumented migrant workers, Koreans resident in Japan and sex equality. I am also interested in family relationships and memoirs about the family.

前年度の点検・評価項目
●①授業の方針や授業計画と実際の授業の内容及び授業目標の達成度
My teaching policy is to (a) provide ALL students with the opportunity and increase their confidence to use the English, which they have already learned and (b) leading on from this, to give ALL students the opportunity to improve both their speaking as well as their listening skills. I aim to achieve this by such methods as introducing vocabulary, useful expressions, idioms, employing pair-work, problem-solving activities, discussion, listening activities, weekly mini tests, interview tests etc.
●②A 教育内容・方法の工夫
I have attended faculty development meetings, attended meetings of the Japan Association of Language Teachers and developed my own teaching materials. I try to improve my teaching based on oral feedback as well as the written feedback in the student evaluations.

I have given students the opportunity to evaluate my classes and have attempted to use their feedback to improve my classes. Although the results are not made public, they are distributed amongst the full-time English teaching staff.

I have talked to students about studying abroad as well as their studies at Shudo, including the students in my tutor group who were unable to receive many credits. I make it a point to talk to students who are continually absent in order to find out what their problems are and to suggest ways to overcome these difficulties.
