概要 | Most chemical processes in relatively small size remain classic technologies, of which the yield and purity of products and the reaction behavior of the processes are solely known indirectly by experienced engineers, resulting in low efficiency and less safeness. To solve these problems, in situ and real-time techniques for monitoring the reaction behaviors are useful. Our group has studied continuously in situ monitoring methods for liquid phase reactions at high temperatures, such as hydrothermal reactions. This technology is useful not only for inspection of reaction behaviors in detail, but also potentially improving the efficiency of such chemical processes, reduction of consumption of resources, energy consumption, and environmental load as well as keeping the safety of the processes. Here, I briefly summarize the principle of the hydrothermal micro-flow reactor system and emphasize the importance of future applications for monitoring chemical processes. |
