概要 | We have accumulated kinetic data on the temperature dependence of the prebiotic RNA polymerase model reactions, that is, the TD reaction , Pb2+-ion-catalyzed oligonucleotide formation , and the CL reaction . These investigations have suggested that its prebiotic formation could be faster than its degradation at high temperatures. On the other hand, the biologically important interactions, such as hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonding, would not be effective at high temperatures. However, this estimation could not be experimentally verified at high temperatures. We have developed an in situ UV-visible spectrophotometer for hydrothermal reactions and attempted to evaluate such interactions. These analyses provided insight into the chemical evolution for the RNA world hypothesis and hydrothermal origin of life hypothesis to be compatible. |
