概要	This paper reviews the contemporary literature on relationship banking and SMEs. We focus particularly on how reliable information is gathered though relationship banking to help SMEs succeed in obtaining funding, which can address the financial difficulties faced by SMEs. We also examine the development of relationship banking after the global financial crisis in 2008, and how relationship banking helped SMEs deal with the crisis, thus reducing the number of defaults. Finally, we look at how relationship banking has evolved since the financial crisis as a result of the distinct changes in two factors-information technology and the economic environment, which affected the value of soft information.
