| 概要 | Fasting suppresses anabolic signaling via mTORC1 and promotes proteolysis, whereas chronic mechanical loading activates mTORC1. We examined whether compensatory overload preserves anabolic signaling during fasting in rat plantaris muscle. Fasting decreased muscle mass and mTORC1/p70S6K phosphorylation, while overload increased them; when fasting was superimposed on overload, muscle loss was attenuated and mTORC1/p70S6K activation was largely maintained. Thus, mechanical loading can preserve anabolic signaling under energy deficit and mitigate fasting-induced atrophy in fast-twitch muscle. |
