概要 | The complexation of noble metal ions with water- soluble porphyrins is normally difficult. According to our continuous investigations on accelerators for the metal- porphyrin complex formation, we have discovered that the incorporation of rhodium(III) into the 5,10,15,20- tetrakis(4-N-methylpyridyl)porphine (TMPYP) reaction is significantly accelerated with ethanol. The formation of Rh-TMPYP was completed within 15 min at pH 3.9 at 100 oC, while the yield of Rh-TMPYP was less than 1% without ethanol. The acceleration effect of accelerators decreased in this order: ethanol > methanol > 1-propanol > 2-propanol > ethyleneglycol > propyleneglycol. The accelerators seem to act as reducing agents. Possibility of this phenomenon to find applications was studied for the spectrophotometric determination of Rh(III). |
