概要	On December 4, 2023, a single specimen of the sea urchin Parasalenia gratiosa A. Agassiz, 1863 was collected at a depth of 3−5 m from Tsukumo Bay in the Sea of Japan, on the Noto peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Prior Japanese occurrences of this species were collected primarily from subtropical waters, including the Kii Peninsula, Amakusa, Ryukyu Islands and Ogasawara Islands. This is the first record of P. gratiosa from the Sea of Japan as well as a northern range extension of this species in Japanese waters. We present a detailed morphological account of this specimen.
