概要	Fimbrora Monniot & Monniot, 1991, a macrophagous ascidian genus of Ascidiidae, is monotypic with F. calsubia from 1000–1860 m in the South Pacific. Its taxonomy has been uncertain due to incomplete descriptions of branchial papillae and neural-gland opening, and no DNA data existed. We collected a specimen at 2027 m off Honshu, Japan, the deepest and first North Pacific record. Morphologically, Fimbrora resembles Psammascidia by having only secondary branchial papillae. Phylogenetic analyses using 18S rRNA and COI with 27 ascidians showed F. calsubia closer to Ascidia zara and Phallusia spp. than to Ascidiella. Results suggest macrophagous feeding in deep-sea ascidians evolved independently at least three times. 担当部分：筆頭・責任著者として全頁を執筆した。
