概要	Using a large panel dataset of Chinese industrial firms, this study finds that small and medium enterprises (SMEs) particularly small firms use more trade credit, and for these firms when they using trade credit have a stronger substitute relationship with using financial institutions. In another words, when SMEs are unable to obtain external financing from financial institutions they may find the other way to solve their financial difficulties. Trade credit is an important and frequently used financing method for enterprises.
