Details In this study, we propose a new proximity graph “β relaxed relative neighborhood
graph” (βRNG) that can be generated relatively fast and has an intermediate nature between GG(β=1) and relative neighborhood graph (β=2), where β is a parameter. Also, βRNG is adopted in SDE-G (Speciation-based Differential Evolution using Graphs) for graph-based speciation. The performance of the proposed method is shown by optimizing well-known benchmark problems for “CEC’2013 special session and competition on niching methods for multimodal function optimization”.
