Details This study represents a portrait of student attributes in the Department of Global Politics using the IC Can-Do survey results. The survey was conducted with the 1st-year students in the academic years 2018 and 2019 with the results being statistically analyzed in terms of how these students can be characterized and to observe over-time changes in their intercultural competence. The results of the IC Can-Do survey reveal characteristics evident in the student groups and shows statistically significant over-time changes in the 1st- year international understanding curriculum that includes an overseas experience program. Furthermore, this research data discloses potentials for the IC Can-Do as: a curriculum evaluation and goal setting tool for the department, a reflective self-assessment tool for its students, and insights for future research directions, including the development of our original Can-Do that will better suit our departmental curriculum and goals.
