| Details | 本研究では、“ガイコツパンダホヤ”と呼ばれる特異な模様をもつ群体性ホヤの実体を、形態学的特徴と遺伝子情報を統合した解析により解明し、新種として記載した。詳細な外部・内部形態の比較に加え、COI 配列を取得して MAFFT によるアライメント整備、PartitionFinder によるモデル選択、IQ-TREE および MrBayes による最大尤度法・ベイズ推論を統合した系統解析を実施した。その結果、この特徴的な模様は独立した系統に由来し、外見的な類似は収斂的形質である可能性が示された。本研究は、形態×分子データの融合により“奇妙なホヤ”の正体を科学的に特定し新種として確立した事例である。
