概要	This study examines how interpreters segment English source speech into manageable units for Japanese simultaneous interpreting. It addresses the challenge of real-time processing despite the syntactic differences between the languages. Analysing recordings from the JNPC corpus, the research investigates how interpreters segment speech, understand information within segments, and connect them. The findings reveal segmentation strategies beyond grammatical boundaries, which can potentially help improve AI-based simultaneous interpreting.
