概要 | In reframing foreign-language (FL) education into translanguaging pedagogy, what is important is educators’ critical poststructuralist epistemology. This starts with speakers rather than named languages by acknowledging emergent bilinguals’ idiolects (García, 2019). The educators, on the other hand, face challenges of implementing a sustainable translanguaging pedagogy because of the dominant monoglossic ideologies. This study examined how “critical” teachers teaching in a context of English as a FL in Japan navigated their stances through neoliberal and monoglossic ideologies prevalent in school education. |
