概要	This presentation introduces a course developed by a Hiroshima university and a Honolulu-based institution to enhance Japanese students' study-abroad experiences in Hawaii. Addressing challenges of immersion and overlooked historical ties, the course explores Japanese immigrants' struggles and contributions to Hawaiian society through lectures, discussions, and research. Reflexive Thematic Analysis of student reflections identified four themes: (1) learning and discovery, (2) personal and cultural connections, (3) critical analysis of history, and (4) application and integration. Findings reveal how integrating historical context with reflective practice fosters critical thinking and intercultural competence, offering a model for enriching study-abroad programs.
