Details We examined the attitudes of vegetarians and omnivores to food, including gender difference, by using Japanese version of the Meaning of Food in Life Questionnaire (MFLQ; Arbit et al., 2017). Results showed that vegetarians’ scores on health consciousness subscale and using diet as a socializing tool subscale were significantly lower than those of omnivores. It also became clear that women regarded meals more important than men.
