"Why do human being engage in war?"

My research interest originates in this question. Why can the tragedy of war be produced? Why do people often discriminate others? Why do negative images adhere in different groups? Why do people like or hate participating in a group? Why is the psychology as an individual and as a member of a group different? What are advantages or disadvantage of belonging a group? Why does human harm others? Why do people feel negative emotions such as hatred, envy, angry and so on? To begin with, is the human nature fundamentally depraved? To answer these questions, I'm trying to reveal the psychological mechanisms adaptive to intergroup conflict situations by using a laboratory experiment, a questionnaire survey, and a computer simulation from the view of evolutionary and adaptionist approach.
